Tanje Back Street Love

Ch. Domburg Parfait Amour (T) x Xelbi Distinctly Dutch (G)

born 3rd May 1998                Eye Tested "Clear"

1 CC              5 Reserve CC's

After an unexpected break in our breeding programme of 8 years a new generation of Tanje Groenendael await in the wings.

"Gypsy" was the sole survivor of her litter and therefore is very precious to us.   However, she now has 6 younger brothers and sisters so is not quite so unique and the Tanje's are well and truly back!  Her pedigree combines the best of both Groenendael and Tervueren lines in the U.K. and she is line bred to the famous Nat. & Int. Ch. Grimm van de Hoge Laer.

"Gypsy" is always on the move and is never happier than on her walks, running around carrying some unusual object she has found.

In the show ring "Gypsy", as is so usual in our line, is late to mature.  However, in 2000 as a raw 2 year old she won Best Bitch, Reserve Best Bitch and a Reserve CC before she moulted - then at the end of the year she reappeared with panache to take a further Reserve CC!  In 2001 just starting to mature she won two further Best Bitch awards with limited showing as we had a litter to tend to.   2002 saw Gypsy start to mature winning Reserve Best of Sex, a Reserve CC and two Best Bitch awards (both with BOB) culminating in taking Group 3 at Southern Counties Ch. Show under Zena Thorn-Andrews - then she moulted!  However she appeared back in style to take the Reserve CC at Working & Pastoral Breeds of Scotland Ch. Show under French Specialist, Mme. Berton-Sarlat followed by another Reserve CC at LKA under Breed Specialist Linda Collins.

2003 saw Gypsy reappear at Southern Counties where she took BOB once more this time under Breed Specialist, Pauline Ballard. She moulted soon after but continued to be well placed at all shows she attended.  In 2004 she was Best Bitch at Blackpool Ch. Show under Breed Specialist Margy Pratten;  Reserve Best Bitch under Breed Specialist Pat Amos at East of England Ch. Show;  Best Opposite Sex AVNSC under Pam Blay and ended her show year winning Reserve Best Bitch and the Northern Belgian Shepherd Dog Club Open Show under Breed Specialist Teri Burke.

This year started well for her winning Reserve Best Bitch under Mike Vines at W. & P.B.A.W.;  Reserve Best Bitch under Breed Specialist Cath Bond at WELKS and gained her first C.C. at the tender age of 7 at Birmingham Dog Show under All-Rounder Steve Hall.

Like most of our dogs she's been a slow maturer and as a young Veteran is really starting to enjoy her time in the show ring!
